Interior design observes how different structures are used, the surroundings, and the expectations and standards. It involves utilising material-technical skills and theories of architecture design to create useful, comfortable, and beautiful indoor environments that satisfy the standards of those who live in them. The space and its surroundings not only has value and satisfies all functional requirements but also reflects historical and cultural roots, its style, environment, atmosphere and many other factors. Interior design has “create indoor environments that satisfy the material and spiritual needs of its occupants” as its objective.
An interior designer designs indoor environments and focuses on realising the needs and wants of customers into reality. There is a heavy importance on communication and understanding what the customer wants. Under the stress of having limited space, time, technology, industrial arts, and material science, along with the cost of the entire process, interior designers must create practical and aesthetically pleasing spaces that earn the recognition of customers.
